WHAT WE BELIEVE

There is one God who eternally co-exists as three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This concept of the Trinity is a challenging one for us to grasp, but it is helpful to consider how God has made us with components of body and spirit. He is infinite, all-knowing, all-powerful, all-present and never changing.

He is characterized as being:

Holy: Separate from creation, perfect and complete in every way, absolutely pure. This also means God can do no wrong, nor can he wrong us in any way. He is not the author of the evil in our lives.

Love: God is love, and therefore loves all people regardless of their performance or behaviour.

Just: He is good and judges perfectly. Though he loves all people he will rightfully and permanently judge all sin and evil in the world.

We were all perfectly created by God to experience life as his child, in intimate RELATIONSHIP with him. Being made in his image we are to REPRESENT his love and character to the rest of creation and each other.
We broke our relationship with him by an attitude of independence from and disobedience toward him called “sin”. This sinful state separates us eternally from God and brings us under His wrath and judgement. No acts of “goodness” or “self improvement” can change the fact that we are guilty and responsible for our own sinfulness.

Because God loves us so intensely he devised a plan to rescue us from the hopeless state we placed ourselves in.

Jesus Christ is God, who became man, led a sinless life and offered himself on the cross in order to pay the consequence for our sin. Three days later he conquered the effects of sin and death by rising to new life so that we might receive new life through him.

He offers us this free gift of forgiveness and restored relationship with God, the Father.
Though this gift of forgiveness and restoration is available to everyone – not everyone will receive it. Jesus does not force his love or purposes on us but waits for us to respond to his gift of love and to love him in return.

Only through a change of heart toward God, acknowledging that Jesus died to pay the penalty for our sin, asking for his forgiveness and declaring Jesus as the Lord/Leader of our lives, may we receive this gift of new and eternal life.

2. Confess Jesus as their Lord (Life Leader).

Romans 10:9 If you confess with your mouth,”Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Confessing Jesus as Lord means that we let go of control of our life and let him be in charge. We trust him to set our life course and meet all our needs along the way.

The local church gathers as a community to worship God and support one another. The primary task of the church and its members is to present the message and person of Jesus Christ to the world who is spiritually separated from him.
